About Our School

Rock Creek Elementary School was constructed throughout 2013 and 2014 and opened in August of 2014. Rock Creek serves students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade with approximately 48 teachers and another 40 very dedicated support staff members. The highly talented staff at Rock Creek was initially made up of existing staff from throughout the district, and now includes many new staff members that have been hired over the past four years.

Rock Creek Elementary School is part of the Ankeny Centennial High School feeder system within Ankeny Schools. As we near the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year, we will strive to make Rock Creek a welcoming community for our students and families. Our staff focuses on coming together in terms of experience, philosophy, and collaboration for the benefit of ALL our students.

Our Mission

As a school community we will meet the individual needs of our Rock Creek students by:

• Empowering our students to reach their highest level of thinking, resourcefulness, and problem solving through engaging the ACSD curriculum.
• Purposefully monitoring student learning to inform and adjust instruction.
