Parking, Pick-Up, Drop-Off

Arrival Procedures

Doors will open at 7:40 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and at 9:55 a.m. on Wednesdays

  • All staff and students will enter through designated doors depending on grade level.
  • Designated areas to enter the building
  • All staff and students will use hand sanitizer as they enter the building.
  • Only staff and students will be permitted in the building.

RC Arrival Procedures

Parent Drop off:

  • Parents are asked to enter the parking lot from Abilene and follow the path all the way around the lot for the drop-off lane. Cars are not permitted to park in the driveway, only in designated parking spaces. You must stay in your car, as this will keep the line moving. Children must be seated on the right side of the vehicle. This parking lot is also used for parents who would like to walk their child to the front door.
  • K-2 students will meet at the designated meeting area and be escorted to their classrooms.
  • Kinder Teachers will have an assigned animal or object, this animal will correspond to a sign out by the bike rack.  Students will find their object or animal and line up there.  When a group of 4 students have lined up an ambassador will help get the students into the classrooms.
  • 1st Grade Teachers will have an assigned animal or object, this animal will correspond to a sign out by the bike rack.  Students will find their object or animal and line up there.  When a group of 4 students have lined up an ambassador will help get the students into the classrooms.  We will do this for the first two weeks of school or when we feel that students can navigate the building better.
  • Students will enter through the 2nd grade doors on the Northside of the building.
  • Students will enter through the main doors and go directly to their classrooms (Ms. Hall, Ms. Arrowsmith & Ms. Otto)
  • Students will enter through the 4/5th grade doors on the NW side of the building (Ms. Larsen).
  • Students will enter through the 5th grade doors on the NW side of the building.

All students will be directed to their classrooms until the start of the school day (they will not enter the gym in the morning).

Buses:

West Side (second entrance off of Abilene Road) –The west side will be used during the hours of 7:15 – 8:15 a.m. and 2:00 – 3:15 p.m. as a bus and daycare providers’ drop-off/pick-up lane only. Day care students will report to the designated area to meet up with daycare providers before leaving.

Bike Riders:

  • Students riding a bike to school may park in the bike racks and enter the above mentioned entrances based on their grade level.
  • Please keep in mind that students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades may ride bikes to school.

Breakfast Students:

  • Students will report to the cafeteria to receive their grab and go breakfast and eat it at their desks. Students dropped off in front or walkers/bike riders will enter through (E2) bus riders eating breakfast enter through (S9)

Late Arrivals:

  • This process will not change from past practice. Students will ring the bell, enter the building and report to the office for “pass” to class.  Parents will not be signing the students as we are not allowing parents to enter the building unless absolutely necessary.

Parent Pick Up:

  • If you are picking your child up by car, please do not park and get out of your car to meet your child.
  • Students are not allowed to walk through the parking lot unattended.
  • Students needing to walk across the parking lot should wait for the crossing attendant’s signal before crossing.

Student safety is our priority. Our student day concludes at 2:55 p.m. Thank you, in advance, for your patience. Should your dismissal plans change, please inform your child’s teacher (or main office) prior to 2:00 p.m.

Dismissal/Buses

  • At 2:45, bus students line up by bus, lines and students 6 ft apart. Use the hallways.
  • The buses will be called and dismissed one at a time.
  • Students will exit the building through the main doors. Sanitizer upon leaving.

Walkers:

  • Parents will not be allowed to “congregate” in the pick-up zone in front of the building. This area is the bike rack area at Rock Creek.  If students are walking they should leave school grounds immediately after dismissal.  If walking with a sibling they should meet on the blacktop after dismissal and NOT at the classroom, locker, etc.

Day Care:

  • Daycare students will go to the gym and socially distance by daycare.

Before and After School

  • BASP students will be announced over the intercom to come to the lunchroom. They will maintain social distancing on the way there.
